HB 3 Resolution for Guardian Program
House Bill 3, passed during the 88" Legislature, requires that public school districts provide at least one armed security officer on each campus effective on September 1, 2023. Lipan ISD has implemented the Guardian Program in which school employees on each campus act as armed security officers. This program requires handgun safety training by a certified instructor. The school board has adopted a resolution regarding this program and House Bill 3.
